Quick Dirty Review of Ubuntu Netbook Remix

One word: Amazing.

Usually I would have to spend time in finding drivers, setting up my xorg.conf, figuring out why the touchpad behaves oddly, etc when I use Linux. Ubuntu Remix works with my brother's eeePC immediately. I upgraded his system hardware and then installed it. I didn't spend a single minute in looking for drivers or setting it up. The only issue I found so far was that there isn't a dedicated button to turn off the touchpad. That has more to do with the netbook's layout rather than Ubuntu's fault (I found a software fix for it, will apply it and link it)

I love the user interface too. I thought I would have to default back to the standard Gnome desktop but I actually like it. It is simple yet extremely functional without being ugly.

If you have a netbook, I can recommend Ubuntu Netbook Remix to you.
