I tried to shove the video card into the slot but it wouldn't take it. The motherboard is not aligned correctly with the case. The bottom is closer to the case than the top end. This made inserting a video card into the lowest slot impossible. The next slot above it was doable but not really.
I had to take the mounting bracket off in order to fit it into the slot. With the bracket, the video card was 1-2mm off from the slot.
Once I got the bracket off and turned on the machine, I got a blank screen. I thought the card was dead so I switched the cable back to my on board. Only, it was more blankness. The LCD was saying no input. I thought I had burnt out my PC at that point.
So I double checked my cables and found the LCD's port was empty. The cable fell out. Figures.
Once I got everything connected, the PCI video card still wouldn't work.
So I gave up.
